Monuments: Iscehisar Quarries: Sarcophagi

In the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD the Iscehisar quarries developed as an important source of white marble for sarcophagus producers in this region. These high-end sarcophagi, often decorated with elaborate columnar schemes, were exported across Asia Minor and even to the Levant and Italy. More
