Place: Capitoline Museums

The Capitoline Museums contain one of the largest collections of ancient material in Rome. They are located in three palazzi which has been recently extended on the Capitoline hill. The original collection of material was first deposited here by Pope Sixtus IV in the 15th century. Statuary from Rome and its environs forms the core of the collection.
